Booking Healthcare Without the Waiting Room

Instead of calling a clinic, waiting on hold, or visiting in person just to make an appointment, this product let people in Turkey book medical services online in minutes. Built for iOS and web, it connected patients with doctors offering everything from blood tests to remote consultations and in-person visits, all within one unified system.

Solving Fragmented Access to Medical Services

Behind that simple experience was a complex business challenge. Clinics and doctors managed their schedules through disconnected tools, while patients had little visibility into what services were available, when, or at what cost. The product had to bridge this gap by giving both sides a reliable way to find, offer, and manage healthcare services digitally.

Two-Sided Platform for Patients and Doctors

To make that possible, the platform was designed as two products working together. Patients used a consumer-facing app to browse services, compare doctors, and book appointments. Doctors used a professional interface to define their offerings, control availability, and manage incoming patients. Each side needed a tailored experience, but both had to stay perfectly in sync.

Discovering How Healthcare Works in Practice

Understanding how people in Turkey actually navigated healthcare was essential. We looked closely at how patients chose providers, what information they needed before booking, and how much friction existed in traditional scheduling. At the same time, we learned how doctors balanced patient care with administrative work. These insights shaped everything from how services were labeled to how appointment slots were created and confirmed.

Designing the System Behind the Experience

Rather than starting with screens, I began by mapping out flows and relationships between patients, doctors, services, and time slots. From there, I designed interfaces that made those relationships easy to understand: patients could move naturally from searching to booking, while doctors could see their workload and availability at a glance without digging through menus.

Validating the Product with Real Users

Throughout development, we tested assumptions with real users. Patients walked through booking scenarios, and doctors simulated how they would manage a full day of appointments. Every round of feedback led to changes, whether it was simplifying a step in the booking flow or making schedule management clearer for providers.

Launching a Unified Digital Healthcare Hub

The final product launched as a digital healthcare hub for Turkey. Patients gained a faster, more transparent way to access care, while doctors received tools that helped them run their practices more efficiently. What used to require multiple phone calls and visits could now be handled in one consistent digital experience.

What This Project Taught Me About Designing for Services

This project highlighted how important it is to design for both sides of a service. Healthcare only works when patients and providers can coordinate smoothly, and thoughtful product design can remove much of the friction that gets in the way. It reinforced my belief that even highly regulated, complex systems can be made simple when built around real human workflows.
